I missed yesterday

It snowed all day and I was just being lazy. I did get to the grocery store where all the snow fraidy cats were buying out the store. All I needed was bread and milk but ended up spending $50.00.
Church was cancelled today and we went to NBMAA for the opening of the member's exhibit. Lots of people and lots of food.
The works were really wonderful. It's hard to believe that so many of these artists aren't better known.
You really should visit the website www.nbmaa.org to see what they do there.
I had a very hard time getting to sleep last night because my neck hurt so bad.
So tomorrow more advertising of the website and my blog. I will need to spend a bit more time writing it.
Anyway that's it for today. Have a wonderful evening.

an unexpectedly hard day

I decided to give a family gify to Michele. All of a sudden I got very homesick and called my sister and just cried. Called Cathy and she reminded me that God gives us those feelings when we are ready for them
I was missing Shel and the kids and my sister Shirley. Anita was missing Allan so it's just the time to miss people I guess
Life was just easier when I was little. As hard as that was I hope I don't ever forget to miss my family.

I am so lucky to have those memories.
Not much got done except cards and a few emails answered. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. In the meantime have a good evening.

Welcome,Cathy, my second follower

Well, let's see. The newest art news is Les will have an exhibit at the Wethersfield Library in February. All the pieces at Dick Blick will be there plus the fingernail polish pieces.

I am really tired tonight. Visists from insurance people, wrapping gifts, trip to the library and Ocean State. Three meals and whatever else.

I was supposed to visit with a friend today but she wasn't feeling well, so I did some Christmas preperations.

Love to all and don't forget,

I am pooped

Two hours balancing my checkbook.
Two hours grocery shopping.
Christmas cards.
Why do emails take so much time?
an hour looking for a last minute Christmas gift for the kids.
Do any of you remember Magic 8 Balls? i had one when I was a little kid and I was just fascinated with it. I wonder if the kids these days are too sophisticated for it but I got one for them anyway
Didn't do much in the way of Les's work but I did go to choir practice so I did God's work for a little while
Time to email my agreement with my friend and then it's going to be bedtime. Love Emily

so now I'm supposed to be funny?

How funny can a person be reporting on trying to get someone to read your blog? I can barely figure out what to say let alone try to be amusing.
Today I went to the NBMAA and talked to the person who will come over and pick the piece for the Gala. I am so grateful I don't have to choose. She gave Les a great compliment though when she remebered the piece we submitted last year.
While I was there I finished our Christmas shopping at the museum store. They have such wonderful things and with the member's discount I saved some money.
It took all my self-discipline to not buy the most beautiful green beaded purse. It was $40.00 and boy did I want it. Oh well, when my ship comes in, I will buy as many beaded pocketbooks as I want.
Have a wonderful day and know we send our love with or without being funny.

a request fo Dan's credentials

We got an email today asking if we could give a recommendation concerning our "webguy". I was only too happy to do it. If you ever want to know who to call, just ask and we can put you in touch with him.
I saw a friend from church today and her son and we celebrated communion together . I got to a meeting tonite and typed up the "M' list of Les's names.
I am having a lot of procrastination getting the web lo info sent out. I am always worried and put things off when I don't know how to do something. Oh well either tomorrow or the next day,

a lazy Sunday

it was a cold and rainy Sunday. Church and a very long nap for me. Zviegnew came over and visited with Les for awhile. Les worked on his names and got the presents ready. He works fast, believe me.
It's time for supper and I have no idea what it will be. something with hamburger because for some unfathomable reason, I bought some yesterday. Oh well, Julia Child won't be eating with us so it can be whatever it is.

There have been lots of phone calls. Two with news of breast cancer and tumors. Fortunately, nothing that can't and hasn't been treated successfully. Thank God.
Have a wonderful week and a wonderful week. Love to you all.

a busy Saturday

Les and I did a LOT of service today. I met a couple of Les's friends and spent time with three of my pals.
We are having a chicken and broccoli casserole for dinner and then watch one of our favorite movies Stranger Than Paradise. There are only a few people we can tell about this one as it's very different and certainly not a Hollywood movie.
Les will be making the housewarming gifts or our hosts at the Christmas Eve parties we have been invited to.
It is still an odd feeling to be invited to parties where the people really want us there. I always felt it was just a courtesy to be asked to parties when we were"out there" I wouldn't have wanted me at my party. (smile)

Welcome, Candace and Ron

How very cool to have our first "followers". Thank you for that! Pleasehare this site with YOUR friends

Christmas cards and errands and having a present for my sister-in-law delivered were the high points of the day.

We ordered a special gift for her but can't tell snyone about it other than that. I am afraid it will get back to her:>) After it's delivered, I'll post a picture of it.

Les's new business cards came in today. Very colorful and fancy they are, too. I will send you a copy by email.

I really love this idea of a web log as I get to write and visit with all of you.

Have a wonderful night and more tomorrow.

Emily

Well, what do you know?I got back to the page. I have no idea how but I did it
.
The whole purpose of this is to let you all know about Les's artwork and how it is all going.

Today, Les picked up his piece from the NBMAA as it was not accepted for the member's exhibit. He found out it was too big. At least it wasn't because of merit. Then later in the day he got a letter from them asking him to donate a piece for the museum gallery in the spring of 2010. We will invite a member of the staff to come over and pick out the piece they want.

I contacted our agent Pat and we discussed the terms of our business agreement. I had not been clear on what I expected and was embarrassed I had let it go so far. I had to make a phone call to my friend to ask her how to do it like a grown up.

Still waiting for the business cards. I was suppossed to pick them up today but will wait till tomorrow, I guess.

We are trying to decide if we want to put an ad in The New York Times on-line section advertising Les' s work. Ah, well. Now that I know how to do this I will try it again tomorrow.

Here is a first

Can you believe it? I have actually been able to create a blog. I don't know what it is but I did create one!!

So now of course, how do I get it to the people I want to get it to?
That's next, I guess.
I am not going to spend any time writing this one till I see how to publish it. In the meantime, pray for my serenity.

Love Emily and Les
